Meet Nick

Nick Offerman was born and raised in the Town of Genesee, Wisconsin and has spent most of his life in Southeastern Wisconsin.

He attended Kettle Moraine Public Schools, where he excelled academically and held his first leadership roles in marching and jazz bands before graduating in 1998.

He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and he met his future wife Shannon during their freshman year.

Nick was an active member and leader in Kappa Eta Kappa Professional Engineering Fraternity from 1999-2002. He held several leadership roles, including Chapter President in 2002. He also served as a representative for the Associated Students of Madison Student Council from 2000-2001.

Nick graduated from UW-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering with a focus on embedded systems design in 2002.

Nick’s career has included technical roles at Kettle Moraine Schools, the UW-Madison Center for Limnology, Milwaukee PC, Rockwell Automation, and NICE Systems.  He has focused on installation and repair of hardware systems, software configuration and troubleshooting, and managing databases.

After living in Greenfield, Cincinnati, and Shorewood, Nick and Shannon moved to the Town of Grafton in 2012 and grew their family when their son Aidan was born in 2013 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.

In 2014, Nick stepped back from the workforce to become an at-home parent to Aidan and later his daughter Isabel, born in 2018.  He relied on Ozaukee’s shared community resources like the public libraries and community recreation programs to entertain, exercise, and educate his children, and make new community connections.

In 2020, Nick became active in local organizing.  He has volunteered to help more than a dozen candidates run successfully for local offices across Ozaukee County.

Nick spends his free time during warmer weather biking with family on the Ozaukee Interurban Trail, enjoying the area’s community pools, and attending local track days at Road America and elsewhere.

During cooler months, he enjoys reading, board games, creating new 3D printing and electronics projects, and learning new creative skills.

Nick is not related to the actor of the same name (but would appreciate his endorsement).
